The Tennessee Nurses Association is pleased to launch this social networking site for nurses. TNA has been the voice for professional nursing in Tennessee since 1905. TNA's mission is to promote and protect the registered nurse and advance the practice of nursing in order to assure a healthier Tennessee.

I was educated to use research to define and solve practice problems, to look beyond the obvious outcomes and to work to discover the true essence of practice problems. Through research, I learned to define problems on the unit by analyzing decreased patient satisfaction scores, the nurse turnover rate, staff morale, and increasing stress levels.... |

From 2000 through 2006, leaders in the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN) developed and implemented a new clinically focused doctoral degree: The Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP). AACN recommends that by 2015 academic institutions that prepare nurses for advanced practice prepare them at the doctoral level. |
